SMPT Error Message -
Can not send mail out
Step 1
Click on the Outlook icon located underneath the start menu or
found on the desktop.

Outlook will pull up the introduction screen. See Figure 1.

Locate the "Tools" menu at the top of the Outlook screen.
Click on it and a drop down menu will appear. Select Mail
Accounts. See Figure 2.

A new window will display account information. Click on
"View or change existing e-mail accounts." Then press the next button. See Figure 3.

Outlook will adjust to another screen, asking the user to pick an
account. Highlight the account then select the "Change"
button. See Figure 4.

The next screen Outlook shows is the settings that need to be
put into the program to retrieve and send e-mail. Click the "More
Settings" button for more details.

A new window appears. Select the tab "Advanced" at
the top of the new screen.
The current window will adjust. Place your curser within the
Outgoing server (SMPT) box and change the number 80 to 587. Press
the "OK" button. See Figure 6.

Outlook will return to the original window. Select the
next button. See Figure 7.

Select the finish button and your e-mail account is ready to use
within Outlook. See Figure 8.
